AFRICAN /UGANDAN DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: JOSE HENDO
Award winning designer José Hendo takes a fresh approach to contemporary fashion design, challenging the obsolescent nature of fashion, and the throw away culture. The label is passionately conscious of the times and is inspired by the world around us.
It uses eco-friendly fabrics as much as possible, creating unique one-off pieces, from organic barkcloth, cotton, used garments such as suits, denim, wedding dresses etc.
José Hendo promotes the use of organic, untreated raw and recycled materials to support ethical trading, fair working conditions and raising awareness about the environmental issues affected by the fashion industry.source

Rad Hourani is a fashion designer born in 1982 in Jordan from a Jordanian father and a Syrian mother. When he was 16 years old, he moved with his family to Montreal (Canada) where he completed his high school studies. Shortly after his graduation, he started scouting for a modelling agency and eventually worked full time as a stylist.
He moved to Paris in 2005, where he designed his first clothing collection. It is also in Paris that he launched his namesake label for a debut show on October 2007 at age 25.
While the Rad Hourani line experiments with new shapes and fabrics in a couture-like approach, the "RAD by Rad Hourani" collection focuses on styles and silhouettes of the same unisex signature look offered in different materials and a more casual transformable fit.
Hourani forgoes the biannual, seasonal fashion calendar with collections identified only by their sequential number. Both unisex lines are sold in the same stores by retailers such as Seven New York, Podium (Moscow), Antonioli (Milan), Daily Projects (Seoul) Maria Luisa at Printemps (Paris), Luisa Via Roma (Florence), Midwest (Tokyo), Joyce, and I.T (Hong Kong).
The conceptual direction in Rad Hourani's work is that all of his products are specifically designed to be unisex. One of my best designers by far......Enjoy his new collection.....xxxx
