Bagdom....Eva Dub, ASOS AFRICA, Adele Dejack, Unus Amor Africa

Bagdom,,,,,,,,haaaaa...where do I begin,,,I designed this (bag below) like 5 years ago.....honestly more out of boredoom than for the purposes of showcasing.....Up to this day I still use it.....get comments, stares and looks..all sorts...you name it....the best and most wierd comment was "DOES IT BREATHE?"....laughed so hard till I cried....I mean yes...yess...yesssss...that's what art is all about..bring it to life...does it breathe? okay maybe its not what the commenter meant but...BUT!!! its close to looking like one of those cute hairy dogs...no???? I think so.....thinking of using it to an interview.....maybe not....but its an art interview so maybe I should....hmmmmm.....

My Brazilian friend's work below, he mixes leather with African fabric and precious/natural stone to create all sorts,,,,belts, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, etc....I love his work.....

ASOS AFRICA SS 2012

EVA DUB: UGANDAN/AFRICAN COLLECTION

Uganda has entered my life like when you find a new friend and suddenly you realize that, from the first moment, that there is a special bond between you and him. Having the opportunity to live a few days at the Lacor Hospital in Gulu and to know a place where you can still feel the energy of those who created it, and grew up together with so much love for fifty years, an experience of what means courage, hard work and hope. Living at the Cooperative Wawoto Kacel with the Acholi, graced by their warm smiles, their desire to get out of the darkness lasting three decades of cruel war, was what prompted me to do something for them and with them. Fascinated by simple objects of seeds and fabrics of many colors, it was not hard to find inspiration for creating a fashion collection that combined the unique African style to our Italian style. Made by the skilled hands of women Acholi, fabrics in this collection express all their strength and enthusiasm and we are naturally processed into clothing and accessories for women and girls. The intent of this small production is not only in support of fundraising for the Foundation Courts Lacor, but is also aimed at the possibility of job opportunities, enhancing creativity and professionalism of the local people. "Eva Aber Lomaro ( name given by the Acholi women "who loves the beautiful") Eva Dub....
